Royal Caribbean Group’s Legal team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Paralegal, Litigation reporting to the Attorney, Principal Litigation.

 

This role will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary

This position provides integral support to the Risk Management Department, Litigation Team with respect to a variety of litigation matters. You will support our in-house litigation team by reviewing, analyzing, categorizing and preparing legal documents and legal correspondence. You will be organizing and maintaining files and providing administrative support as required. You will be required to calendar legal deadlines, coordinate responses to subpoenas, writs of garnishment, and discovery matters. You will also help with investigations and other litigation matters, as well as assisting with other tasks as required. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Review legal correspondence, legal pleadings and other papers as requested by in-house counsel.
  • Prepare responsive correspondence or other documents as required. 
  • Gather and analyze internal documents, data, evidence, and other materials that may be relevant to ongoing litigation, other legal matters, and investigations. 
  • Organize and maintain documents relevant to litigation and internal investigations in a paper or electronic filing system.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of responses to subpoenas, writs of garnishments, and legal pleadings, as requested. 
  • Coordinate with in-house counsel, business personnel and outside counsel on various legal issues, and assist in general filing and maintenance of legal documents, 
  • Research legal issues, conduct docket searches, docketing of relevant legal deadlines. 
    Assist in-house counsel in various administrative areas, including calendaring, preparing expense and reimbursement reports, and other related tasks, as required. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree in legal/business areas preferred) and paralegal training and/or degree. 
  • Minimum 4-6 years paralegal experience in a litigation law firm. 
  • Familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. 
  • Excellent skills working directly with internal clients, outside counsel, state regulatory and licensing agencies. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Flexible; able to set priorities, handle multiple projects, manage deadlines and work effectively with people. 
  • Detail-oriented and very organized. 
  • Good communication skills.

·       Proven communication and computer skills with the ability to work well under pressure. 

·       Demonstrated leadership skills and a detail-oriented mindset
