Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Marine Strategic Initiatives reporting to the Director, Marine Program Strategy.

 

This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

 

 

Position Summary:

 

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a strategic and data-driven Strategy Manager to join our Global Marine Strategy team. This role supports cross-functional initiatives that improve operational performance, drive strategic planning, and enable efficient long-term growth across the Marine organization. 

As a key project leader within the Marine Strategy team, this individual will analyze complex data, lead high-impact projects, and effectively partner across departments, including branded operations, technical teams, newbuild, supply chain, and other corporate functions. The Manager will help shape strategic direction, analyze and extract operational insights, and facilitate and guide executive decision-making through dashboards, presentations, and white papers. 

Projects assigned are typically top priority, high profile, and multi-departmental initiatives for the organization. This individual should be comfortable independently leading high-impact research and analysis, managing all aspects of project planning, tracking and status reporting, and have experience partnering with diverse stakeholder groups to identify collaborative and pragmatic business solutions to critical needs.  

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Help shape the strategic direction of the Global Marine Operations organization, including by facilitating executive and cross-functional workshops, analyzing operational performance data, and collaborating across teams & departments to respond to emerging needs. 

  • Lead the assessment and execution of strategic projects aligned with short- and long-term goals of the Marine Operations organization, including identifying and assessing opportunities/needs, developing project roadmaps, executing high impact research & analysis, and translating recommendations into action (via alignment sessions, change management / rollout plans, etc.). 

  • Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities, and translate these into actionable insights & priorities. 

  • Develop strategic recommendations and assess potential alternatives based on assessment of value / impact, cost, and implementation, guided by strong sense of business value. 

  • Identify short- and long-term risks that could impact Marine Operations and priorities, and develop mitigation plans.  

  • Develop and maintain strategic and annual operating plans for the Global Marine organization. 

  • Craft compelling executive / board level presentations and materials, including effectively communicating complex data insights via dashboards.  

  • Represent Marine in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. 

  • Facilitate collaborative working sessions with varied stakeholders to develop cross-functional solutions that improve operational performance, alignment, and efficiency.  

  • Stay informed regarding industry trends, competitive set activities, and emerging opportunities, using this information to inform strategic decisions and project planning. 

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • BA or BS degree in business, hospitality, finance, engineering or a related analytical field; Master’s Degree in a related field preferred 

  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience required. Experience in a management consulting firm, investment banking, or relevant strategic function at a corporation is strongly preferred. Experience in the travel and leisure industry is also a plus 

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with a proven ability to break down complex business challenges and develop strategic solutions 

  • Understanding of financial principles and experience building complex financial models  

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including financial modeling), SQL, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Essbase, Tableau, Visio, or similar tools is a plus. 

  •  Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute high-impact projects from start to finish 
 
  • Strong commercial mindset focused on efficiency and value creation 

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with experience translating analysis / opportunity identification into implementation 

  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple simultaneous projects 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to various audiences 

  • Experience leading executive level workshops / working sessions  

  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement--able to build good working relationships across teams and at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership and cross-functional teams 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including financial modeling), SQL, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Essbase, Tableau, Visio, PowerBI, Brio/Hyperion or similar tools is a plus 

  • Ability to mentor peers and promote strategic thinking across the team. Experience supervising others or leading a team preferred. 

  • Travel and/or Marine industry knowledge/experience preferrable 

  • Takes initiative and is flexible to change
