Manager, RCI POS Support & GHS Compliance

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the configuration of accurate content, to process over $1B onboard revenue in a timely manner. This position is also critical to manage relationships for a growing fleet and private island collection consisting of 29 shipboard teams for Royal, Azamara, and the Perfect Day island team, as well as provide training for their use of POS systems. This position works internally with finance, accounting, legal, tax and auditing teams, to ensure data accuracy to balance the voyages, and comply with tax or consumer regulations in various countries. This position also manages relationship with concession partners (retail and SPA) to update their content in all POS systems.  This position also launches new ships, convert ships to Fidelio, and manages content on Perfect Day Sand Dollars.  This position also manages GHS content, which is the onboard system to validate beverage package and loyalty coupon redemptions. 

 

This position also supports guests service team to make system enhancements to reduce onboard complaints such as charging disputes.   Additionally, this position works with IT to implement mobile payments, and also work with digital team to implement new digital initiatives.  This position will manage POS initiatives by providing guidance to operations, while liaising with internal audit, accounting and I.T. to ensure adherence to each department policies and requirements. This position is also responsible for developing and providing reports as requested by operations to assist in business decisions, as well as, work with I.T. to identify and evaluate new POS technologies and determine their applicability to our business needs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all aspects of Point of Sale (POS) revenue across the fleet for Royal Caribbean International and Azamara brands.
  • Builds and manages POS database applications for all onboard revenue centers, and ensures accuracy and integrity of data and accounting information.  This includes coordinating and resolving all Content Change Management for POS software programs: Revelation/Agilysys and providing POS support to shipboard I.T. as needed.
  • Oversees and manages content of GHS system to interact with POS and PMS.  
  • Partner with Digital team to implement new digital initiatives. 
  • Partner with IT to implement mobile payment methods onboard.
    • Work with onboard operations to implement system enhancements to reduce onboard complaints such as charging disputes. 
  • Manages POS back office upgrade versions, testing, and implement business process improvement and new accounting information.
  • Manages customer relationships throughout implementation process and serve as a single point of contact for users and Revenue partners.
  • Work with I.T. Technical to oversee all Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance testing, certifications, reporting, to ensure that the company maintains a secure environment to store, process and transmit credit card information. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls as they relate to POS data integrity.
    • Partner with Accounting and the business to streamline processes that drive enhancements, gain efficiencies, and/or minimize reoccurring issues.
    • Leads liaison with I.T., accounting and finance to coordinate resources needed to accomplish projects, initiatives and troubleshooting.
    • Creates documentation of system parameters, e.g. user permissions, revenue categories, depletion settings, kitchen printing, etc.
    • Builds and manages relationships with internal and external business partners and project manages POS system development for all new initiatives, including process and reporting development related to operations, accounting, internal audit, and I.T.
    • Directs the creation of processes that drive efficiency within content management, training and new system deployments, as well as the communication of these processes within Royal Caribbean International and with onboard revenue partners.
  • Work with I.T.  to drive continuous improvement of business system standardization and usability by providing software design requirements, seeking out new technologies and bringing together knowledge experts for collaboration.
    • Defines requirements design, user testing and implementation support for POS systems on newbuild projects.
    • Oversees activities of staff engaged in the content management and training of Business Systems.  Coordinate resolution for daily occurrences of errors or conflicts. 
    • Oversees account reconciliations of various projects.  Document procedures and monitor in order to direct the staff in meeting deadlines.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university required. 10+ years of work experience in a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience configuring Agilisys POS system.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management.
  • Excel, Access, Word experience required
  • SQL/Visual Basic programming experience desirable
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operations personnel
  • Query experience and understanding of data structures and data files required
  • P.O.S. and inventory software experience required
