Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Talent Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Leadership Programs reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Advisory.
This position will work on-site in our Port of Miami office.
Position Summary:
The Manager of Leadership Programs is responsible for the end-to-end programming, communication planning, and delivery of programs aimed at strengthening capability across the enterprise globally with a focus on leadership development. The ideal candidate will be skilled at relationship management, needs assessment, and solutioning to identify next step actions that align with business priorities in a practical way for people leaders and individual contributors.
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Leadership Development and Succession and provides input to strategic decisions that affect their functional area of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership Development Programming:
- Apply program expertise to shape a clear and structured path for our portfolio of leadership development programs to run smoothly, providing oversight support for larger programs and owning mid-sized efforts end-to-end.
- Scale enterprise scaffold of programs to enable their execution across divisions, departments and teams (as appropriate). This role will also have a strong facilitation role in our ongoing evolution.
- Design and facilitate system-level follow-up supports for those who participate in leadership programs to help enable their on-the-job application.
- Identify and recommend appropriate content that bring education, experience, exposure and environment learning opportunities to sustain development and build competency.
- Craft targeted communication plans for each program, to ensure key stakeholders and employees are educated at the right time, with the right information, in the right way. Includes drafting communications, developing manager and employee resources, and related supports.
- Advisor to the HR Business Partner (HRBP) community and business leaders with our enterprise leadership portfolio of offerings, as well as with their unique leadership development related needs, ensuring they have access to high quality supports and guidance.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders internal and external of the company—HRBPs, broader Global Talent Team, vendor partners, etc.—to ensure key stakeholder alignment, communication and effective delivery of programs in scope.
- Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational and talent team goals, staying focused on plans and adapts in response to changes, proactively raising risks and contingencies.
Continuous Improvement, Measurement and Reporting:
- Design a strategy and plan for measuring and reporting the results and impact of programs and solutions that align with specific program, departmental and broader enterprise goals.
- Conduct ongoing gap analysis, raising opportunities to strengthen and improve.
- Recommend and implement enhancements based on data-driven insights, participant feedback and career/industry best practices to improve program process, delivery and overall effectiveness.
- Ensure all records and documentation for efforts are accurate and up to date, maintaining data integrity.
- Apply knowledge of adult learning, leadership development and the business marketplace for insights to guide the evolution of the leadership development strategy and respective programs.
People Leadership Accountability:
- Set appropriate performance objectives for direct report(s), including any that are dotted line.
- Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments, measuring and tracking the team’s and own performance. Helps the team learn from success, failure, and feedback.
- Takes appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team and individual objectives.
- Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential, building capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other experiential methods.
Qualifications, knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, or related field.
- 7-10 years’ work experience in talent, learning and development, or related area, with 5 years of leadership development related experience.
- Expertise in adult learning and development, with comprehensive exposure across the talent lifecycle. Hands-on experience designing and implementing learning solutions and development supports.
- Proficient in influencing without direct authority by utilizing advanced consultation and facilitation skills.
- Customer-centric focus, with demonstrated experience partnering with HRBPs and stakeholders of varying levels in a global matrix environment.
- Experience planning, delegating, and managing the work of others (internal/external) for results achievement within limited timeframes, providing real-time feedback and coaching.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of independently managing and executing projects, escalating questions and concerns as needed. Brings a problem-solving and critical thinking mindset.
- In situations of ambiguity and change, remains organized and focused on implementing practical solutions promptly.
- MS Office proficiency—strong in PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook; moderate in Excel
- Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to surface the core of complex situations and effectively solve problems.
- Development and delivery of multi-mode communications in a polished and compelling manner.
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
