Royal Caribbean Group’s Silversea Cruises brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Entertainment and Enrichment Programs on the Hotel Operations – Entertainment Team reporting to the Senior Director, Entertainment.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Entertainment, this position is responsible for the strategy and management of the shipboard Headliner Entertainment and Enrichment operation to ensure an elevated guest entertainment experience is delivered throughout the fleet. The Manager overseas Headliner Entertainment and Enrichment recruitment, scheduling and strategy designed to elevate the overall Entertainment operation, negotiating terms and contracts and is responsible for the creation of show schedules.
This position is directly related to ratings and the ultimate guest experience when it pertains to Headliner Entertainment and Enrichment program. This position is essential to the success of the overall Entertainment operation and required to review and evaluate all shipboard questions and ratings systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the fleet wide strategy, execution and creative direction of the Headliner Entertainment and Enrichment Programs.
- Develops and maintains industry contacts to attract top caliber Headliner Entertainers and Enrichment speakers to ensure a globally diverse roster of talent.
- Owns the management of the Headliner and Enrichment annual budgets including forecasting and tracking monthly spending to stay within budget.
- Travels to industry showcases and select performances, as needed, to vet new acts and shows.
- Liaises with Cruise Directors and other department heads onboard and shoreside to achieve an elevated experience while supporting all efforts to achieve targets in ratings.
- Works with port and tour agents to secure local talent for port day cultural offerings (i.e., musicians, folkloric shows, speakers, artisans)
- Oversees Entertainment database, talent library and other such programs and scheduling tools, ensuring all relevant information is up to date.
- Monitors guest feedback and customer demographics to ensure successful talent line up and continuous improvement in ratings through action plan follow up.
- Collaborates with the Director of Entertainment to create, develop and improve consistent programming, project deliveries and initiatives to support the overall Entertainment Experience including Youth and Activities.
- Maintains master Headliner Entertainer schedule by ship and itinerary.
- Adjusts schedules based on itineraries, guest demographics, performance, requests, etc. and reviews Headliner Entertainer staffing levels to anticipate and prevent shortages.
- Supports in the management of routine shipboard entertainment operations, execution and performance delivery of the overall entertainment programming and product.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Public Relations to create correct messaging and stories enabling a greater global reach and positive message.
- Develops compelling presentations using critical data and materials for executive level meetings and other initiatives as needed.
- Prepares various reports as required including, but not limited to, status reports, talent search reviews, budget analysis and industry trends.
- Works with Manager, Cruise Staff to develop and assist in daytime activities.
- Collaborates with Legal and Finance teams to develop most cost-effective and favorable contracts for potential partnerships and vendors, ensuring any licensing requirements are met.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment, Arts Administration or a minimum of five (5) year’s comparable work experience in the entertainment or cruise industry with strong experience in sourcing and managing main stage show and speaker/enrichment talent.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in management position in the cruise industry, or its equivalent is preferred.
- Previous shipboard experience is a plus, or comparable work experience servicing the cruise industry.
- May be required to travel nationally, internationally onboard our ships or to industry functions.
- Strong creative abilities coupled with leadership qualities.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver company goals.
- Effective financial control of operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Job requires 20% traveling international, at times last minute.
- Ability to work in the United States.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
- Analytical and results oriented.

- Worldwide entertainment and cruise knowledge.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. MXP/database experience preferred.
