Royal Caribbean Group’s Finance Transformation Hub has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Decision Science & Optimalization reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Data & Insights.

 

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

The Manager, Decision Science & Optimization will serve as a key leader within the Finance Transformation Hub, responsible for deploying and scaling products that operationalize demand forecasting models, and other tools, across Royal Caribbean Group’s fleets, brands, and functions. The role will promote utilization of data to create insights to guide our strategy and provide recommendations to optimize existing processes & generate value. The manager will lead a small team, partner closely with AI/Data Science, Data Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations stakeholders, and ensure that dashboards, metrics, data models, and analytical tools are scalable, governed, automated, and adopted by business users. The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership, advanced analytics fluency, financial and operational acumen, and the ability to translate complex forecasting output into simple, trusted, executive-ready insights.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the oversight, performance, coaching, and career development of a small team potentially including analysts and leads who support integrated business planning and other decision science initiatives.
  • Lead the deployment and business enablement of demand forecasting models across the enterprise.
  • Partner with AI/Data Science and Data Engineering teams to translate model outputs, forecast accuracy trends, feature drivers, and variance explanations into intuitive dashboards, business workflows, and decision-support tools.
  • Lead UAT, documentation, training, adoption tracking, release communication, and continuous improvement for forecasting and BI products.
  • Drive adoption of forecasting and other BI capabilities through stakeholder training, documentation, office hours, feedback loops, and recurring business review cadences with the enterprise.
  • Establish and monitor data quality controls, metric definitions, dashboard governance, and refresh reliability standards to ensure business users can trust and act on forecast and financial outputs.
  • Develop and maintain KPI frameworks that track forecast accuracy, forecast bias, adoption, exception behavior, order creation performance, inventory health, budget variance, and value realization.
  • Support data analytics required to provide Brand Finance teams required forecast information.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Four-year Bachelor's or equivalent required; MBA preferred.
  • Eight to ten years related business analysis / data science / finance / strategy experience and/or training. 
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel. Strong PC skills are required.
  • Experience deploying BI/AI/ML or analytics products tied to forecasting, demand planning, supply chain planning, revenue management, inventory, procurement, or financial planning.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required. 
  • Advanced MS Power BI and Oracle SQL skills required
  • Understanding of backend systems and data architecture (Oracle, SQL Server, Azure Data Studio, etc.)
  • Ability to lead adoption, training, and change management across non-technical business teams.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence, inspire and develop a team while driving team culture of inclusion, engagement, and self-starting.
  • Foundational Knowledge: Strong understanding of project management, operations, marketing, and finance principles to lead management on short and long-term strategies.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Ability to identify the root cause of complex problems, develop options, and recommend solutions.
  • Analytical: Data combined with critical thinking to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities 
  • Presentation: Strong aptitude to present complex data analyses into simple, concise, and engaging stories that bring insights to the forefront using Power Point.
  • Results-driven: Ability to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly by meticulously ensuring data and insights presented are accurate.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are communicating and taking time to understand points being made.
  • Negotiating and Persuasion: Able to bring others together to try to reconcile differences and persuade others to your point of view.
  • Financial Modeling: Evaluating data, determining optimal way to accomplish company goals.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other Data Visualization tools, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
