Royal Caribbean Group’s Silversea Cruises Brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Cruise Staff Programs and Musicians on the Hotel Operations Team reporting to the Cruise Director.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida.

Position Summary:
This position will manage Silversea Cruises’ Entertainment department’s cruise staff and musicians staffing approach, and product development of onboard programs to ensure Silversea guest expectations are exceeded with respect to their experience of entertainment and social environment. Also manages the production of entertainment programs that compliments the Silversea product, promotes guest interaction, provides variety, spontaneity, consistency, and flexibility in shipboard programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Entertainment cruise staff, musicians, and technical manning, scheduling and hiring through direct auditions or working with our partners and alliances.
- Manages the deployment, training, and maintenance of Entertainment cruise staff for specific ship classes. Liaise with Monaco HR and maintain department shipboard schedules.
- Assist in planning onboard entertainment programs and activities, ensures program quality and content meet or exceed acceptable standards.
- Oversee ship communication relevant to all Satellite, TV, and music programs, both live and recorded.
- Ensure all music played onboard is consistent with the agreed entertainment concept.
- Liaise with IT department, ensuring ships have correct broadcasting equipment.
- Ensure all operating manuals are up to date and followed correctly.
- Oversee Silversea holiday decoration program.
- Develop existing alliance relationships with our recruiting partners and agencies, source and create new alliances.
- Maintain programs for adolescent guests, monitor supply inventory and order when needed.
- Analyze ship rating results with ship coordinators , suggest corrective action when needed and ensure a drive for continuous improvement in this area.
- Assist Director with annual and monthly budget forecasting and planning.
- Ensure ships have all relevant stock levels and orders are placed in a timely manner.
- Handle operational issues (via laptop, mobile phone 24/7) in contact with on board teams, and Director of Entertainment to help/assist for the best resolution of last-minute schedule revisions, cancellations or changes of ports of call.
- Ensure correct management of payroll budgets, including annual budgeting, spend and forecasting. Verify all contract rates are correct prior to issuing.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- BA in Theater Arts a plus.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience managing entertainment programs with at least five of these years to be onboard a cruise ship.
- Strong creative abilities coupled with leadership qualities.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver company goals.
- Effective financial control of operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which can include evenings and weekends.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally, sometimes at the last minute, up to 40% of the time.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
- Analytical and results oriented.
- Ability to strategically plan in advance.
- Worldwide entertainment and cruise knowledge.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. MXP/database experience preferred.
