Manager, Creative Design

This position will be working onsite from Miami.

 

Position Summary:

The Creative Design Manager will lead creative services team members to visually represent the global brand across external and internal communication channels, ensuring the look, tone, and essence of marketing and sales materials align to meet the business objectives of the organization. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking with hands-on design in the development and implementation of high-level creative concepts; managing relationships with internal clients and external agencies to better understand needs and challenges; and providing visual and messaging direction and support to marketing channels within the organization. You will also be responsible for the daily management and professional development of their direct reports. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Devise new and evolving global creative campaigns, core messaging, and visually stunning concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization 

    • Direct and motivate a team of designers and copywriters on creative projects from concept to completion 

    • Ensure brand standards are delivered across all creative assets and deliverables across the marketing funnel 

    • Supervise creative team members, review and provide daily feedback to develop the creative work, and provide forward-looking direction to support team members’ professional development 

    • Make judgement calls using analytical, innovative and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment to ensure creative is delivered to specifications, on time and on budget 

    • Ensure consistent brand look and tone across all creative materials and channels 

    • Drive brand evolution through ongoing development and implementation of brand guidelines 

    • Train internal and external departments on the brand guidelines 

    • Manage internal client relationships to better understand needs and challenges 

    • Collaborate with external agency teams to ensure creative work aligns with business objectives, as well as brand look, tone and other mandatories 

    Present high-level creative projects to Brand, Marketing, and Creative leadership teams 

    Manage and oversee the professional development of creative team members  

    Lead by example and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, passion, and innovation 

    Ensure direct reports are complying with team and company policies 

    Monitor and approve digital, print, and other related marketing materials and campaigns

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • BA/BS required in Marketing, Advertising, Creative, or related field required 
  • BA/BS required in Marketing, Advertising, Creative, or related field required 
  • 6-8+ years’ experience in marketing, advertising, and/or agency experience 

  • Must have proven experience in Graphic Design/Art Director role in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, In-house creative experience a plus. 

  • 3+ years experience managing/directing creative teams 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications or similar field from an accredited four-year college or university or directly related, equivalent experience. 

  • Portfolio of impressive real-world work samples showcasing versatility and impeccable design taste 

  • Knowledge of email design and best practices 

  • Knowledge of mobile design and best practices 

  • Knowledge of print design and best practices 

  • Excellent design, copywriting, editing, proofreading, and project coordination skills.  

  • Meticulous attention to detail; clear and concise communication, commitment to producing quality product; deadline conscious.  

  • Software experience in Mac and Windows applications including Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Office. 

  • Profecient in HTML, CSS3 and JavaScript a plus 

  • Excellent idea person with a proven track record of developing, leading and implementing innovative and successful creative strategies 

  • Hunger to learn continuing developments in the field 

  • Expert communication, persuasion and presentation skills, both written and verbal 

  • Leadership expertise in a fast-paced and complex environment; equally adept at managing up, down and across corporate hierarchy 

  • Excellence in managing and motivating staff 

  • Ability to achieve results within budget and target deadlines 

  • Excellent planning, time-management and follow-through skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask and work on numerous projects simultaneously 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Experience in change management 

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are essential 

  • Proven experience in Mac and Windows applications including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, QuarkXpress, etc. is required 

  • Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Adobe Premiere is a plus
