The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager of Corporate Development reporting to the Director of Corporate Development.

 

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

As a key member of Royal Caribbean Group’s Corporate Development team, the Corporate Development Manager will be responsible for helping to define, shape, and execute the company’s agenda for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, investments, and other major corporate strategic initiatives. The Manager will report directly to the Director of Corporate Development and work cross-functionally to generate and/or drive broad ranging strategic initiatives, evaluate organic growth opportunities and M&A, and lead the generation of analytically driven and actionable insights to influence activities across the company and brands.

 

The Corporate Development Manager will be a self-starter and natural leader with excellent quantitative and verbal/communications skills. They will have the maturity and confidence to interface with company executives, and a humble self-aware personal style that enables him/her to lead cross-functional teams to consensus around solutions.

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess industry and competitive landscape, areas of strategic focus, and proactively identify and foster potential acquisition and investment opportunities.
  • Support deep dives, pipeline refresh, existing projects, and assist with future transactions as we execute on our growth ambitions (e.g., underwriting, diligence, project management, etc).
  • Help drive forward thought leadership and POV on segments and potential targets/opportunities.
  • Conduct and maintain significant ownership of analysis and vetting of potential M&A targets for strategic fit and financial impact on RCG and present to C-Suite.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts with target executive team, outside advisors, and internal subject matter experts.
  • Lead the reporting on due diligence findings and provide summaries to internal C-Suite.
  • Provide business drivers and inputs, refine, and oversee financial and valuation analysis done internally and by outside advisors.
  • Develop and maintain relations with key industry participants and potential targets.
  • Develop CEO and/or Board of Directors investment memoranda and presentations.
  • Support and manage significant deal structuring and negotiations.
  • Lead internal teams on implementation and integration/carve-out planning.
  • Active interaction with C-Suite along with direct reporting functions to AVP of Corporate Development.
  • Motivate and engage direct reports, including providing day-to-day direction, mentorship and coaching.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred, CPA/CFA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-9 years related work experience.
  • Corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, management consulting, and/or private equity background preferred.
  • Travel or cruise industry experience a strong plus.
  • Strong financial modeling, P&L forecasting, and business plan analysis experience.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills to drive complex business issues to resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing and presentation creation skills.
  • Ability to deliver presentations with confidence in senior management meetings.
  • Ability to build compelling narratives with relevant supporting materials.
  • Familiarity with legal contracts and understanding of M&A transaction terms.
  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Driven to get tasks done promptly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop rapport and credibility with diverse groups with a focus on facilitating buy-in and solution development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and passion for creating an excellent work product.
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to manage and develop analysts.
