This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for guiding business strategies by providing actionable recommendations based on in-depth consumer, market and product knowledge. The Consumer Insights Manager is responsible for leading a team to enable the acquisition, analysis and reporting of actionable insights using applied market research techniques, as well as in-depth knowledge of the business and consumer/ market data, to drive business decisions.

 

The Consumer Insights manager will partner closely with multi-functional business partners, as well as executives, to gain a deep understanding of high level business priorities, business challenges and opportunities and will develop strategic recommendations and action plans based on the risk/ reward of the opportunities.

 

Key Stakeholders include, but are not limited to, the Executive Leadership team, Marketing, Revenue, Trade/ Sales, Corporate Social Responsibility, Shared Services, and External Agency Partners.

 

This position will bring expertise in consumer, market and product research, syndicated data, and application of advanced analytics to the full breadth of business activities. The Consumer Insights Manager is responsible for getting buy-in from business partners and customizing the communications of the research findings to have the broadest impact on the business. Key duties include the design, execution and presentation of quantitative and qualitative market research studies in response to business needs, management of brand tracking studies, leading and executing ad testing, segmentation, and market landscape studies, grasp of social media analytics and online listening, and effectively managing vendor relationships and budgets. This includes identifying and working with the most qualified research partners to employ the optimal research approach to meet the business requirements.

 

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify business problems and opportunities, convert them to research needs, develop research plots, design specific studies, interpret & analyze results, and persuasively communicate findings and recommendations to business partners.
  • Proactively ensure business teams have superior consumer, guest, and market understanding via sharing existing learning, identifying gaps and finding ways to fill these. Provide a point-of-view and actionable business building ideas based on deep foundational understanding of the consumer, market and product as well as the potential revenue impact.
  • Communicate a thorough knowledge of consumer, market and business including key marketing initiatives, market research techniques, brand strategy, future challenges and opportunities, as well as industry or competitive issues that will influence the business.
  • Manage and oversee the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, including selecting and managing external experts/ vendors.
  • Provide the business with a deep understanding of consumer and travel agent behaviors and mindsets to aide strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Measure and track customer satisfaction and brand health to help manage business performance; measure and track the performance of integrated campaigns through the impact on revenue, brand health, social media, web, online, email and direct mail performance. Monitor and report competitor activities to help the business understand opportunities and threats within the category, including evaluating the performance of industry advertising to help maximize our brand performance.
  • Ensure that the Insights team represents the Voice of the Consumer in everything that we do.
  • Provide strong leadership to the team through knowledge of assigned projects, ability to provide clear direction to direct reports, and effectively delegating and managing multiple tasks.
  • Effectively educate, develop, lead and manage direct reports to enable them to oversee their projects. Develop personal development plans- managed against specific goals- for all direct reports and ensure that the plan is implemented and provide regular coaching and feedback.
  • Manage the market research budget and own the internal and external management of the market research process.

Financial Responsibilities

Plans all market research activities. Annual budget typically exceeds $1 mm Develops an annual budget and manages on an ongoing basis. Responsible for budget planning, forecasting, tracking and submitting invoices of $1 million budget Maximizes project ROI by providing the efficient acquisition of high-quality information

 

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability in forming trusted advisor relationships with internal partners or external clients. A proven track record of triangulating disparate data and turning them into business recommendations and actions. 6-10 years of market research project management experience (planning, design, execution, analysis, and reporting) Fully trained in qualitative and quantitative research study design Market research supplier experience preferred Team player with experience interacting with different functional areas and personality styles. People management experience. Ability to understand business issues and translate them into metrics and research design Prefer working knowledge of advanced statistical methods such as regression, factor analysis, and CHAID analysis Experience conducting global research BA/BS in statistics, economics, or market research preferred; MBA or Master’s degree a plus
