This position will be working onsite from Miami.

 

Position Summary:

The Manager, Commercial Planning will lead the development and execution of the strategic planning, forecasting, and business performance cadence for Royal Caribbean International’s International organization. This role will help connect near-term business performance to the long-term strategic direction of the International business, with a focus on supporting the 5-year strategic plan, annual planning process, KPI forecasting, deployment strategy inputs, and recurring executive business updates, while coaching and mentoring a high-performing team.

The Manager will translate market performance, commercial trends, deployment considerations, and cross-functional inputs into clear insights, structured analyses, and leadership-ready materials. This position will also manage the business performance cadence for International, including recurring updates, leadership meeting preparation, strategic performance reviews, and ad hoc analyses. These updates should be framed through the lens of progress against the 5-year plan, ensuring leadership has a clear view of performance trends, risks, opportunities, and actions needed to support long-term growth and profitability objectives.

Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, commercial acumen, structured problem-solving, strong working relationships with key stakeholders, and the ability to synthesize complex information across multiple international markets and corporate functions.

The Manager will partner closely with Finance, Revenue Management, Marketing, Onboard Revenue, Casino, BI, deployment stakeholders, and market leaders to align assumptions, track performance, and support fact-based decision-making across the International organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing team of 3 individuals with varying degrees of experience and technical expertise.
  • Create, maintain, and refine the International 5-year strategic plan, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, market opportunities, deployment considerations, and long-term growth and profitability objectives.
  • Align the long-range strategic plan into annual planning priorities, KPI targets, market-level assumptions, and commercial initiatives.
  • Forecast key International performance metrics, including guest volume, ticket revenue, onboard revenue, casino VIPs, and pre-cruise purchases.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with Finance, Revenue Management, Marketing, Onboard Revenue, Casino, BI, market leaders, and other stakeholders to gather inputs, align assumptions, and pressure-test strategies.
  • Manage International deployment strategy discussions by developing analyses, market perspectives, commercial implications, and scenario views that inform deployment-related decisions.
  • Communicate recurring International business updates, ensuring materials are framed around progress against the 5-year plan, key performance trends, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
  • Own leadership meetings, business reviews, and strategic performance discussions, including agendas, pre-reads, presentation materials, and follow-up items in both verbal and written formats.
  • Translate complex market, financial, commercial, and operational inputs into clear insights, executive-ready narratives, and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor performance against strategic priorities and commercial objectives, identifying gaps, emerging trends, and potential actions to support delivery of annual and long-range goals.
  • Manage ad hoc strategic analyses related to International growth, profitability, market performance, deployment opportunities, sourcing trends, and commercial tradeoffs.
  • Drive consistency in how International markets and functions communicate performance, escalate issues, and connect tactical actions to broader strategic objectives.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; focus in a quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Four to six years of related experience in financial/business analysis or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of Commercial Planning and Forecasting concepts and tools, or basic economics.
  • Previous experience with target setting and forecasting preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience with Sales or Marketing preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience implementing system enhancements and decision-making tools preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Previous experience leading and coaching a team preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality, clear and concise presentations.
