Manager, Capital Planning Finance

The Royal Caribbean Group’s Finance Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Capital Planning Finance reporting to the Director, Capital Planning.

 

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida

 

Position Summary:

 

The Capital Planning department controls and guides decision making for all capital expenditures. Aligned with the Company’s strategic planning process, the department provides a long-range plan for the capital asset portfolio as well as provides the tools necessary for business leaders to make investment decisions. This position within the team will oversee the financial side of the Capital Planning process. This includes overseeing a team of 1-2 and leading the financial forecasting of the company’s 5-year and annual Capital Expenditures and Depreciation and Amortization forecasts, along with Capitalized Interest and vessel Net Book Value forecasts. In addition, this individual will oversee the consolidation and reporting on monthly Capital Expenditure spend, complete ad hoc reporting & assignments, manage financial uploads, and prepare analyses for executives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages the company’s five-year Capital Expenditure forecast and strategy inclusive of Newbuilds, Revitalizations, Destinations, Technology, Marine Operations, and other General Capital projects to be used both internally and externally to investors.
  • Owns the detailed current and multi-year Depreciation and Amortization forecast across the Company’s three consolidated brands, including evaluating financial performance and analysis of results
  • Provides leadership and oversees multi-year budgetary planning and management in alignment with the company’s Strategic Plan. This includes the evaluation of investments using financial model and development of scenario analyses.
  • Develops and executes processes to allow for routine analytical review of Capital spend and performance in order to provide recommendations to Management and monitor monthly capital expenditure results through detailed variance analyses. 
  • Develops and oversees quarterly Balance Sheet forecast and asset Net Book Value used to calculate ROIC and ROA metrics.
  • Serve as a primary owner for the implementation of a new ERP system, including the integration of a redefined end-to-end Capital Planning system
  • Maintain and oversee monthly reporting database for all capital expenditure forecasts
  • Liaise with Business Groups and Accounting to compile quarterly CIP confirmations and proper application of capitalization policies.
  • Manages performance, coaches and develops a team of analysts and senior analysts under this position.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required based upon current company financial goals.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar; MBA, CPA, or CFA distinction preferred.
  • 7-10 years of work experience required in Finance and/or Strategy; Accounting knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Brio, JD Edwards World, Oracle Database preferred.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work well under pressure, write executive level reports, administer meetings and problem solve with groups.
