Position Summary:

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating security for facilities in Miami, FL and internationally as well as security efforts for RCG special events around the world. You will ensure RCG employees, visitors, property, and assets remain protected and secure.

The Lead Facility Security and Asset Protection at Royal Caribbean Group is a critical and strategic role, responsible for the comprehensive management of global safety and security operations. This position ensures the protection of company assets, employees, and guests by developing and implementing robust security protocols and practices. Additionally, this position oversees all CCTV operations, access control operations, visitor management systems, and international/remote location security monitored by the RCG Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).

 

The incumbent will:

  • Act as the Law Enforcement Liaison
  • providing executive protection support,
  • managing metal key and badge ID card access control, and
  • Ensure that the corporate receptionists and security team provide White Glove Customer Service while still maintaining the necessary security and safety protections.
  • Assume the role of deputy Incident Commander, utilizing the Emergency Management and Incident Command System
  • Act as a content expert on physical security and Enterprise Security Risk Management.
  • Serve as a primary conduit between the Executive Command Group and Operations Units.
  • Work with security integrators and IT to design and implement the most efficient and comprehensive CCTV and access control systems.
  • The position demands a high level of expertise in security management, crisis response, and the integration of advanced security technologies, ensuring a secure and efficient operational environment across all global locations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global safety and security strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with executive leadership to ensure alignment and support for security initiatives
  • Oversee the daily operations of physical security contractors to ensure compliance with established security protocols.
  • Manage and support front desk corporate receptionists to maintain a secure and professional reception area.
  • Provide guidance to security contractor/team members.
  • Oversee all CCTV operations, access control operations, visitor management systems, and international/remote location security monitored by the RCG Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
  • Ensure that corporate receptionists and the security team are providing White Glove Customer Service while maintaining the necessary security and safety protections.
  • Lead and manage emergency response and crisis management plans, ensuring preparedness for any incidents.
  • Manage fire protection systems, conduct fire drills, and manage emergency evacuation protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of security equipment and protocols to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Develop and deliver security training programs for employees, contractors, and receptionists.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency action plans, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Conduct regular OSHA compliance audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of advanced security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control systems, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Integrate innovative security solutions and technologies.
  • Work with security integrators and IT to design and implement the most efficient and comprehensive CCTV and access control systems.
  • Stay updated on the latest security trends and technologies to continuously improve the security infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with law enforcement agencies to coordinate security efforts and investigations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international law enforcement entities.
  • Provide support for executive protection, ensuring the safety and security of high-profile executives during travel and at events.
  • Serve and assist with executive protection, including planning and coordinating security measures for executive movements.
  • Manage metal key and badge ID card access control systems to ensure secure and controlled access to facilities.
  • Implement and maintain protocols for issuing, monitoring, and retrieving access credentials.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations and standards, including OSHA regulations.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on security incidents, risk assessments, and security performance to senior management.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Assume the role of Deputy Incident Commander during emergency situations, utilizing the Emergency Management and Incident Command System.
  • Act as the conduit between the Executive Command Group and Operations Units, ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, security vendors, and regulatory bodies, to enhance security measures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as IT, Human Resources, Situational Management, Intelligence and Investigations personnel, Risk Management, Legal, Finance, and External Vendors.
  • Foster a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the organization.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in law enforcement, private/corporate security or military experience in conducting security compliance program activities
  • Experience with managing, vetting, and directing security integrator vendor firms to support security responsibility.
  • Experience in managing private security contracts and staffing hours.
  • Hands on experience in access control operation, multisite CCTV site, digital access control systems & badging and Security technical processes through multiple local and global facilities.
  • Experience in New Build Facility Security processes and functions.
  • Experience in developing operating plans and procedures and a good understanding of IT security systems integration (access control, fire safety, CCTV etc.)
  • Prior experience collaborating with leaders from local, state and national-level law enforcement and other government agencies

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Able to research and analyze complex situations and produce reports with recommendations for senior staff.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments with and in support of corporate executives and their subordinates at a variety of levels within the company.
  • Ability to consolidate ideas, information and data; produce sound strategies; and clearly communicate (both verbal and written) those strategies to a variety of levels within and outside the company.
  • Ability to independently prepare executive presentations that effectively communicate core program strategies, plans and accomplishments. 
  • Ability to implement initiatives, guide departmental activities and maintain fiscal responsibility across departments.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to multi-task while guiding and/or leading the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • This position is required to be performed full-time from an RCG designated worksite.
