The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Revenue Management reporting to the Manager, Revenue Management.
Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL
The Lead, Revenue Management, will assist with the creation and implementation of RCI product strategic plans to maximize ticket revenues and utilization of stateroom inventory. This plan includes determining strategic pricing throughout the deployment cycle, negotiating large group contracts and charters, assisting with global and domestic sourcing strategies, and monitoring economic and market trends to adjust the strategy when necessary. The ability to manage an array of global products and understand market nuances is key. The Lead will work closely with the team Manager, Director, as well as Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services and other operational departments to implement this plan. The Lead will guide a team of product analysts to achieve revenue plan and forecast. The Lead will be expected to perform statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and data manipulation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Lead will assist with the development of strategic plans to maximize RCI ticket revenues and utilization of inventory for a product portfolio, ranging from $200M to over $600M, for North America and International cruise markets. This includes data analysis and support as well as the creation of Power Point presentations of strategic plans to senior management.
- The Lead will train, provide product feedback, and coach a team of analysts in order to achieve revenue plan target and forecast.
- The Lead will be responsible for developing, distributing, supporting, enforcing, and integrating best practices and standards across the organization.
- The Lead will be responsible for revenue maximization via inventory and pricing management. This includes reviewing product pricing to ensure fares support strategic sales and marketing initiatives. The Lead also assists in the preparation of incentive and charter sales quotes for the Sales Incentive team. The position will also provide analytical support for cross-departmental action plans and promotions with Sales and Marketing when indications point to demand and pricing softness. The position also requires coordination and implementation of promotions to address product needs and develop initiatives that drive volume through more cost-effective distribution channels.
- Ensures that Strategic and Tactical Pricing execution complies with anti-trust and Sarbanes Oxley
- requirements.
- Responsible for daily reviews of any low APDs bookings that falls under low APD thresholds including special faring and combinability issues.
- Provides sailing level forecast guidance for product portfolios that support quarterly Wall Street guidance.
- Develop working knowledge of Reservation and Pricing systems (AS400), Data Mining tools (Hyperion) and demonstrate expertise in analytical tools such as Excel, to effectively execute strategies and tactics.
- Assist with the development of measurement tools with Strategy and Analysis teams that enhance yield management activities across the organization. Drive continuous improvement of policies and processes as well as the enhancement and creation of tools. Provide Revenue Management support in system overhauls that deliver benefits to a variety of pricing related activities.
- Create and distribute reports to Senior Leadership on key strategic initiatives/products, as well as tactical reactions to changing conditions. Provide regular updates to management on these key initiatives/products via trading meeting, regular updates, etc.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master’s degree (MA) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline required
- 5+ years related experience in financial / business analysis or related field required.
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of revenue management concepts and tools and demonstrate understanding of basic economics.
- Previous experience with Sales or Marketing preferred.
- Previous experience in implementing system enhancements and decision-making tools.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Previous experience with leading a team and coaching preferred.
