About the opportunity

 

The Royal Caribbean Group Product Development team has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Lead, Product Development reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development. The position will work on site in the office, Monday through Thursday, in Miami, Florida with Fridays being remote.

 

 

 

What does the Product Development Team do?  

The Product Development Team at Royal Caribbean Group shapes and evolves the consumer products that define the guest experience across ships and destinations. Partnering with design, technology, operations, and business teams, the team translates ideas into scalable solutions, defining requirements, aligning feasibility and innovation, and guiding execution to ensure experiences meet brand standards, business goals, and guest expectations across the portfolio. 

 

 

How you can make an impact

 

In this position, you would collaborate with cross-functional teams and ideate concepts for our guests, by both fostering and demonstrating a culture of data-driven and vacation experience focused consumer product thinking and innovation.         

The Lead of Product Innovation will ideate experiences for Royal Caribbean International. This role will develop concepts that respond to consumer insights, needs and desires while understanding the white space to innovate and define what's next in terms of the vacation experience while strengthening the equity of the brand.                                                                                                                                         

The ideal person in this role will possess a combination of strategic and creative thinking as well as strong analytical, written and verbal communication, storytelling, and presentation skills. This role requires that a person have a proven track record of leading teams through ideation and design of guest experience products. 

 

 

What your day-to-day will look like

 

·         Develop concepts that are grounded in consumer insights and latter up to the Royal Caribbean brand promise.   

·         Overlay innovative ideas that surprise and delight and create for differentiated and superior experiences.   

·         Partner with the Insights & Analytics team to develop research plans to guide development that will strengthen the equity of the brand and deliver exceptional consumer experiences supporting Royal Caribbean's long-term strategy.   

·         Own multiple projects and development of broader strategies in conjunction with Sr Manager. 

·         Identify clear short and long-term innovation strategies.  

·         Analyze a wide variety of data to make data driven recommendations for concepts that directly respond to consumer desires/needs.  

·         Foster a highly collaborative cross functional team, where cross-discipline dynamic communication is paramount to success. Partner with newbuild, operations, strategy, analytics, and product development, to socialize design guidelines and strategic vision.  

·         Create presentations showcasing the strategy and concept to share recommendations with senior management and CEO.   

 

 

How to achieve success

 

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.   
  • 5+ years of business, product / brand marketing or strategy experience.   
  • 5+ years of experience in the travel/cruise industry.  

 

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Strong knowledge of the travel and hospitality sectors - ideally in a corporate setting.   
  • Solid leadership skills.  
  • Strong creative thinking with ability to develop innovative ideas and creative problem solutions.  
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  
  • Strong Attention to detail and follow-through.  
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at the senior most executive levels of a company.  
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills, experience presenting to executive leadership.  
  • Strong business acumen.  
  • Willingness to take personal initiative.  
  • Proven ability to collaborate with others, plus the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact with all levels of the organization. 
  • Experience in working with internal and / or cross functional teams.  
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Ability to analyze data and research results to make recommendations.  
  • Ability to grasp the complexities of the business to effectively translate that into a strategy. 
  • Ability to apply strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking.
