Lead, Performance Management

Position Summary / Job Purpose:

The Performance Management Lead functions as an integral part of the Business Planning & Performance Management team within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization by providing insight on organizational performance through a financial lens. The focus of the role is to use financial modeling and analysis to guide strategy and create recommendations for Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Supply Chain organization. This role will significantly influence the strategic direction and financial performance of the GSC by supporting and analyzing potential investments and cost savings initiatives. The position will also play an important role in forecasting and managing budgeting efforts within the team. As part of its strategic financial responsibilities, this role will own planning & analysis, business case development, capital projects, memo crafting and other ad hoc analysis.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial planning & analysis efforts including forecasting and budgeting needs for the GSC organization with a strong emphasis on cost savings.
  • Identify and size investment and cost savings opportunities to pursue within Supply Chain and Guest Travel Services as well as any other key areas in the enterproise.
  • Prepare financial models with different scenarios and recommend the best options to move forward with in order to achieve optimal outcomes based on business needs.
  • Prepare internal rate of return (IRR) financial models to evaluate the financial business case for proposed capital projects.
  • Conduct competitive analyses on spend across GSC’s multiple categories for all RCG brands and report insights to cross functional leadership and executives.
  • Apply findings from research, trend forecasting, performance and feedback to guide decision-making and develop the scope of work for future projects.
  • Write Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) memoranda to formally request approval for capital projects and presenting such requests to RCG’s Capital Committee and Executive Committee.
  • Track and monitor the financial health of large capital programs and provide frequent updates and reporting to C-suite level executives.
  • Translate analytics into the stakeholder’s native language and tell stories to make complex things simple to understand and translate into measurable actions.
  • Partner with cross functional teams and communicate across business units (at all levels), presenting work to large and diverse audiences, while promoting an insight driven organization.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Four-year Bachelor's or equivalent required; MBA preferred; three to five years related business analysis experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Financial Planning & Analysis experience required with heavy emphasis on analysis.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.  Strong PC skills are required.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong knowledge of the cruise industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance and marketing principles to lead management on strategic initiatives and guide analysis.
  • Analytical: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and opportunities of alternative solutions and conclusions.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop options and implement solutions.
  • Presentation: Using computer skills and communication style to create, manipulate, edit and communicate slide presentations. Understanding end-state and the best way to present a story in a logical and analytical fashion to achieve desired results.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are communicating and taking time to understand points being made.
  • Negotiating and Persuasion: Bringing others together to try to reconcile differences and persuading others to your point of view.
  • Financial Modeling: Evaluating data, determining optimal way to spend to accomplish company goals.
  • Essbase / Oracle Smart View experience preferred
