The Royal Caribbean Group’s Supply Chain Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Food & Beverage Procurement reporting to the Director, F&B Procurement.
The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida.
The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Position Summary:
- At RCG, a Lead Buyer is a subject matter expert in procuring assigned goods and services on an ongoing and emergency basis. They research suppliers and negotiate prices, availability, and delivery schedules. They also ensure the accuracy of order submissions and guide the resolution and recovery of goods, including last-minute orders. The critical nature of this work impacts internal customers, vessel operations, guest experience, and overall guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex data analysis of multiple variables to forecast and problem-solve while improving quality in dynamic market conditions.
- Develop a procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and often complex variables.
- Negotiate price, availability, transportation, and delivery schedule.
- Make negotiation decisions often in highly volatile situations based on multiple market variables with limited guidelines for price and availability.
- Analyze and incorporate specific market data into negotiations and strategies correlating to the goods and services procured.
- Communicate and present clear plans and financial impacts to management.
- Attend industry trade shows and conferences.
- Set up recovery action plans for delays, item discrepancies, or shortages to ensure the vessels receive the necessary products.
- Train new joiners and monitor performances during the training and probation period.
- Support different categories based on team and business needs.
- Measure and evaluate suppliers on on-time delivery performance.
- Implement and drive change to best support the team and business.
- Adhere to the company's delivery and invoicing policies.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field and/or equivalent work experience is required.
- 3+ years of related Supply Chain experience, including negotiation, data analytics, and effective communication across multiple levels of staff and management
- Experience working in a fast-paced and multicultural environment with multiple projects and priorities is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers and all levels of staff and management, both shipboard and shoreside
