The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Finance & Business Analysis reporting to the Director of Finance, Capital, and Business Analysis.
Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL
This role will collaborate closely with the Head of Brand Finance and the Director of Finance, Capital, and Business Analysis to deliver insightful financial analysis that reflects the current state of the business and supports its strategic direction. A key component of this role involves developing and maintaining robust financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, forecast performance, and support decision-making across strategic initiatives. The position will be also responsible for the financial management of capital projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and achieving strategic objectives, all in alignment with company policies and procedures.
The Lead, Finance & Business Analysis, is responsible for the financial modelling, analytics and reporting of business cases ranging from investment valuations to financial plans. The candidate will be expected to perform in-depth business analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership, while utilizing multiple sources and large data sets. This includes scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and building dynamic models that support long-term financial planning and capital allocation. Additionally, the role will drive the Capital Process for the Brand, planning, and reporting capital projects and related forecasts, depreciation and write offs while providing financial framework for numerous special projects including review and/or preparation of business cases for the company’s long-term Capital Projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to evaluate business performance, assess risks, and support data-driven decision-making in a rapidly changing environment.
- Develop and validate business cases while leveraging multiple data sources and large data sets, including scenario planning and sensitivity analyses.
- Lead Capital Project Budgeting/Forecasting; annual consolidation and prioritization of Brand project requests, monthly forecasting of project status against plan.
- Assist in shaping the strategic financial plan process for the brand, aligning with long-term investments.
- Manage Capital Process; development of business case and financial projections with project managers and co-ordination of various levels of Committee review, influence outcomes through interactions with Project Owners Hotel, Newbuild, Marketing, and Accounting.
- Drive Capital Strategy: provide recommendations on capital allocations and develop/maintain long term Capital Project Plan.
- Prepare and update Newbuild vessel P&Ls, along with finance metrics, using analytical skills and collaborating with all stakeholders.
- Manage and Provide Key Analytical Support on Business Cases for the company’s long term strategic projects.
- Build and maintain executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and reports that clearly communicate insights, recommendations, and business impact.
- Complete procedures as outlined in Company policies and procedures (SOX and other requirements).
- Support development of junior team members.
- Ad Hoc Analysis as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, Accounting or related roles, preferably within hospitality, travel, or leisure industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline; advanced certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- Advanced Project Management skills and be able to develop, assess and select proper strategy, considering performance, budget, schedule, and scope constraints.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate data analysis generate actionable insights, and support business problem solving in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.
- Proficient understanding and working knowledge of GAAP relates to depreciation and fixed assets.
- Advanced analytical skills should include long-term financial modeling and capital project management.
- Technical expertise: Advanced Excel (modeling, automation) and PowerPoint (high-impact presentations).
- Effective storytelling, able to translate complex ideas into clear recommendations using data visualization.
- Problem-solving mindset with proven ability to identify root causes and create actionable solutions.
- Understanding of cruise line operations in hotel and technical aspects, as well as global deployment.
