Royal Caribbean Group’s Finance Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Data Insights reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Data & Insights.
This role will work onsite in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
The Data Insights Lead will be responsible for driving valuable fact-based insights from internal and external systems and synthesizing key findings which inform business and executives of alignment on opportunities in their daily data-driven decisions.
- Support the build-out and management of data analytics and insights within the Finance organization.
- Collaborate with business and finance team members.
- Assist in establishing an enterprise platform that will provide substantial financial information to various business groups to help them make better business decisions.
- Increase the maturity of our current analytics capabilities by progressing from traditional BI to true Analytics in order to take advantage of emerging technologies around Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics.
- Support the development of our Data-As-A-Service environment to our Finance and Business Stakeholder groups leveraging all available data.
- Synthesize data in many forms in an effort to discover new insights, analytics products, and business findings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support our Business & Finance stakeholders with world class analytics to promote business-driven data processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Tech, Business Intelligence, etc.) to build and maintain finance data models, dashboards, and reports that meet business and reporting needs.
- Leverage finance system knowledge to ensure seamless integration of financial data from ERP systems, sub-ledgers and other enterprise sources.
- Assist management in framing problems then determine the intended approach and quantitative methods to develop solutions.
- Guide the development of self-service analytics tools and dashboards, empowering business units to generate insights independently.
- Develop new algorithms and mathematical approaches to understand the company’s strategic objectives and solve complex business problems.
- Assist management in promoting and developing a strong sense of analytics culture based on data facts, teamwork, and contribution.
- Ensure valuable model insights are evaluated for long-term reporting utilization. Build/rebuild predictive models/segmentations supporting our stakeholders.
- Track the effectiveness of data models, algorithms, and dashboards to provide insights to management.
- Develop analytics deliverables (eg Reports, Dashboards, Presentations) for client groups to help support data-driven decision making.
- Perform duties by collecting data, analysis, and making recommendations to management relevant to the strategic direction of our stakeholders.
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech/industry trends, experimenting with, and learning recent technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
- Work with product and enterprise teams via both Agile and Waterfall Methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Latest core tech skills: Microsoft Azure, AWS, AWS Redshift, Hadoop Hortonworks/Cloudera, Big Data, PowerBI, Hyperion IR, Oracle Exadata is a plus, SQL, and PLSQL.
- Experience with data analytics, modeling techniques such as regression, decision trees, data mining, neural networks, and clustering.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analytics, financial data analytics or financial planning and analysis technologies.
- 3-5 years of experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft) and FP&A systems (Oracle EPM, TM1/Cognos) is highly desirable.
- Strong background in financial modeling, analytics and reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Excel).
- Experience in driving the adoption of financial analytics tools and dashboards across different teams and levels of the organization.
- Understanding of Accounting process; Controls; Security; and SOX to partner with senior Finance Leaders.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for business leaders.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, such as financial forecasting, predictive analytics or machine learning is a plus.
- Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
