Position Summary:

Project oriented position responsible for leading complex analyses, developing insights, and delivering solutions that will drive performance improvement across the enterprise.  Areas of focus may include revenue enhancement, cost reduction, enhanced operational efficiency, and performance enhancement relative to competitors.  As an internal consultant to multiple areas of the company, this person will use analytical skills and process improvement talents to complete projects that may be tactical or strategic in nature. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the creation and development of the company’s Strategic Plan, working with company leaders and stakeholders around the company.   
  • Prepares and evaluates financial models to be used in economic/financial research and analyses for use in the development of business strategies and in subsequent analyses of results. Evaluate potential asset acquisition and sale opportunities.
  • Develops strategic insights based on internal and external data and business analysis, including but not limited to analysis of markets, customers, and businesses.
  • Gathers and distills competitive information and market analysis to create ideas and recommendations that may involve changes to the company’s operating practices and market focus.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities while displaying creativity, drive, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Conducts comprehensive analysis of complex data, with strong experience in gathering actionable insights.  Uses financial analysis and other quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess a broad array of business issues and distill them into key items and proposed actions.
  • Develops, implements and maintains enterprise-wide key performance indicators and communicates, across the organization, KPI achievements.
  • Interfaces effectively with all levels within the organization in a manner that is collaborative and respectful.
  • Handles/leads completion of ad-hoc questions/ issues/projects as they arise, making recommendations where appropriate.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and MBA strongly preferred; three to five years of business analytics or consulting experience. 
  • Strong financial acumen with analytical/quantitative skills, familiarity with one or more statistical/analytical tools and ROI models required.  Strong statistical and mathematical skills desired.
  • Revenue management experience highly desired.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.  Strong PC skills are required.
  • Position requires knowledge of how the company works and how value is generated, as well as in-depth familiarity with key corporate data.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to digest and synthesize large amounts of data and information into executive-level reports and documents.
  • Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to the cruise business, including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion.
  • Knowledge of how value is generated in the cruise industry, as well as in-depth familiarity with key corporate data.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a solid background in financial modeling.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
  • Essbase and Hyperion (formerly BRIO) required.
  • Proficiency with statistical / analytical tools such as Hyperion Studio, Essbase, SAS, and R
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including executive-level presentation experience. 
  • Demonstrated track record of success in achieving high-impact business results in a multi-business line work environment
