Finance Specialist, Casino Operations

Position Summary:  

The essential functions of the Casino Finance Specialist role are the creation, management and service ownership of processes related to casino financial services pre-cruise and post-cruise. This position is responsible for evaluating credit lines and proposing an appropriate amount for managerial approval based on research of credit worthiness. Responsibilities also include processing wire transfers, being the primary contact for the collections process, overseeing the win/loss statement process, and ensuring the end of sailing reconciliation of credit lines is performed accurately. The role will establish, implement and execute processes to align with shoreside casino operation and shipboard operation teams. Designs, disseminates and facilitates appropriate documentation, procedures and is responsible for the communication of pre and post cruise credit reporting, tracking and collection of funds.  This position would serve as a primary contact responsible for the coordination to all Casino Marketing and Operation business segments, Internal Accounting & Finance Teams, External Credit & Collection Agencies, Royal Caribbean Guests, Independent Casino Representative and Partnership liaisons maintaining effective communication with all related parties. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Drives all processes related to the pre-cruise funding and the post-cruise settlement of a VIP casino guest.  

  • Key contact for all guest and vendor communications via email, phone, mail and other communication methods for application discrepancies, credit approval, accounts receivables and collection efforts 

  • Evaluates all documentation for proposed credit lines to be presented to the Credit Committee for approval.  

  • Evaluates and ensures supporting documentation for credit lines is robust as possible in order to maximize collection efforts post cruise. 

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with Casino Clubs to gather credit information and references. 

  • Reviews Central Credit Daily Report for in-house accounts 

  • Develops and maintains a database for all credit and collection files. 

  • Validates and monitors wire transfer in/out with Finance for gaming deposits and/or gaming winnings. 

  • Ensures all credit and bank information is updated in a centralized computer system. 

  • Maintains up to date business flow process and communication of credit line /wire transfer/cashier’s check approvals for all Royal Caribbean with the exception of Asia clients and Asia vessels. 

  • Proactively communicate with shipboard operations team to ensure correct and complete documentation is collected from guest to maximize collection efforts post-cruise. 

  • Reconciles accounts receivables with promissory notes and incoming payments. 

  • Acts as the primary casino contact to collect outstanding funds. 

  • Liaises with Accounting and Global security for uncollectable debt and sailing restrictions. 

  • Prepares and maintains operational reports including but not limited to credit issuance, accounts receivables, accounts in collection, settlements, write offs, etc. and works with the corresponding internal/external agencies. 

  • Participates in the development of data integration processes and enhancements related to credit and collection activities. 

  • Adheres to KYC and AML requirements and operates in accordance with company core values, internal policies and procedures and applicable gaming regulations. 

  • Facilitates the year end process of W2G Win/Loss statement issuance and ensures prompt execution and delivery of communication. 

  • Assists in the reissue of independent vendor IRS 1099 forms when requested. 

  • Responsible for the preparation of refund requests for slot tickets and/or gaming chip to guests 

  • Maintain knowledge of Royal Caribbean casino programming, policies and procedures

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Four-year Bachelor's or equivalent required; minimum 2+ years experience in collections or financial operations or casino marketing.   

  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.  

  • Strong PC skills are required. 

  • Financial accounting or strong mathematical skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a multicultural environment with all levels of customers, employees, and management 

  • Strong computer skills including email programs, internet programs, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel, RCCL reservations system. 

  • Excellent written and verbal skill; literacy and fluency in English. Spanish helpful but not required, for internal and external communications. 

  • Must possess organizational and time management skills with ability to quickly adjust priorities as new developments arise. 

  • Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with superior guest service skills. 

  • Problem solving and resolution skills meeting guest and vendor expectations and special requests. 

  • Ability to organize time and work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision to effectively handle requests and deadlines.  

  • Knowledge of AS400 or similar reservations system required. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Siebel, Salesforces and Lotus Notes experience preferred. 

  • Expert level ability to identify and implement new, innovative methods and processes. 

  • Maintain effective communications between all relative channels. 

  • Experience with Team Management, moral, disciplinary policies, etc. 

  • Experience with reporting, maintenance and analysis. 

  • Experience with training / making training materials, writing, and implementing SOPs.
