The Royal Caribbean Group’s Workplace Solutions Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Facilities Maintenance Technician reporting to the Senior Manager, Facilities Management.
This position is onsite, based in Miami, FL and follows a fixed schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST.
This position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance across company facilities to ensure safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. This role provides technical support for electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
- Inspects facilities and equipment to identify repair needs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshoots technical problems and implements efficient solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintains accurate records of work performed, parts usage, and service schedules.
- Coordinates with vendors and contractors when specialized services are required.
- Responds promptly to emergency calls and resolves building system issues with minimal disruption.
- Ensures adherence to company protocols and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts for facility efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Facilities Maintenance preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of facilities maintenance or related technical experience in commercial or industrial setting required.
Technical/Functional Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment, and basic computer skills for recordkeeping.
Leadership/Behavioral Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills to collaborate across teams and interact with contractors.
- Adaptability and reliability in fast-paced operational environments.
Schedule
- Standard work hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, with flexibility for emergency needs.
