Executive Communications Specialist

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.





This position will help develop and implement communications tactics to drive awareness, business performance, organizational culture, employee engagement and leader effectiveness, with a focus on executive engagement, advocacy and visibility. In partnership with the Manager of Executive Communications, this person will craft communications for senior leaders, specifically the CEO and CFO and possibly other senior executives part of the Operating Committee. This person must be a great writer and thinker, and a trusted advisor, who will work closely with cross-disciplinary partners to help tell the company’s business leadership story. 




  • Support executive communications efforts for the senior leadership across channels and format types. 
  • Maintain daily interaction with the Manager, Executive Communications to be up-to-date and think ahead and proactively of senior executives’ communications
  • Interact with, influence executives and provide advice on communications that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style as well as the business priorities and how to communicate them.
  • Develop, write and edit communications for senior executives, geared to internal and external global audiences, including messaging, emails, blog posts, scripts, speeches, remarks, storytelling and thought leadership assets, and internal and external presentations.
  • Develop creative tactics for communicating to key audiences while taking advantage of an executive’s unique voice and the needs of different audiences.
  • Conduct needed research as guided by the Manager, Executive Communications, for different writing assignments. Partner and liaise across different teams internally to obtain information and resources to develop materials on behalf of leadership.
  • Conduct research as guided by the Manager, Executive Communications, to identify, recommend and secure external speaking and thought leadership opportunities for senior leaders keeping in mind communications objectives, strategies and key story drivers.
  • Support and collaborate on executive town halls and internal executive events, partnering with Manager, Executive Communications, Employee Communications and others in Corporate Communications as may be needed.
  • Work with Corporate & Incident Communications team to prepare key messages, backgrounders and briefings for executives participating in high profile events, conferences or other forums where media may be present.
  • Help to edit written materials to ensure coherence, style, accuracy, grammatical correctness, and adherence to brand and editorial guidelines. This duty includes content editing, copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking.
  • Conduct presentation preparation and rehearsals, and be on site day of event to manage logistics and handle executive needs.
  • Partner with Social Media & Content Development to identify executive visibility opportunities to be shared via social media channels.
  • Partner with Employee Communications to help draft messages and scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees, giving you a front seat to how these communications come together.
  • Ensure executive communications messages are reaching people, are making sense to people, and are consistent with our purpose and values.




  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of communications and/or writing experience in corporate, government, PR agency, executive or employee communications.
  • Knowledge and adherence to AP Style.
  • Experience creating Keynote and/or PowerPoint presentations.





  • Outstanding writing and editing skills for different formats including announcements, statements, blog posts, video scripts, letters, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective communication content requiring minimal editing and rework.
  • Considered an excellent listener and able to convey a leader’s voice.
  • Ability to translate complicated concepts into clear, compelling language for audiences ranging from key stakeholders to employees to consumers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple and constantly changing priorities, and work under pressure.
  • Proactive and takes initiative. Functions effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience collaborating directly with senior-level executives.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
