This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.
Royal Caribbean International is a leading Cruise company dedicated to innovation and excellence. As the Director of Revenue Strategy and Service, you will play a pivotal role in our organization’s growth and profitability. You will be responsible for leading initiatives with a targeted revenue impact of $200 million annually, contributing to revenue targets in excess of $6B in annual net ticket revenue. As Director of Revenue Strategy, you will manage three critical Revenue Management teams accountable for global strategic revenue projects, global revenue saving opportunities, and revenue coordinator escalations for a total team size of 17 individuals and two direct reports. This vital position will require driving analytics, developing innovative strategies, crafting compelling business cases for new initiatives, track progress and communicate results to Executive Leadership. The ability to think strategically and drive revenue growth projects cross functionally through the organization is critical. The individual and team must successfully partner with Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Service, Guest Experience, Reservations, Deployment, and IT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mentor and advance a high performing team that is responsible for development, accuracy, and maintenance of tools, including automated Power BI reporting.
- Drive revenue growth through identification and implementation of revenue growth initiatives.
- Develop and manage business cases to support long-term financial impact of growth initiatives.
- Ensure growth initiatives are implemented in a timely and correct manner, coordinating with all necessary stakeholders including, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services, Reservations, Hotel Operations, and Legal
- Provide leadership consistent updates on the strategy, process, analysis, and efficiencies of the Coordinator and ECCR teams in oversells, deployment, berthing, escalations, and policies
- Lead and set the strategy, direction, process, and continuous improvement of all initiatives after implementation
- Oversee the reporting on status and profitability of initiatives to all stakeholders
- Lead change management efforts to reach agreement on new strategies and develop an implementation plan and work with stakeholders across the organization.
- Oversee the creation of reporting, manage results of the plans and communicating to stakeholders (Revenue, Sales, Marketing, Air/Sea, Legal, Other) on initiative progress
- Lead the team in identifying opportunities with Audit and functional teams on a day-to-day basis including, but not limited, to Special faring, Goodwill reporting, Onboard Credit and ensuring compliance with company policies
- Lead the teams in escalation management to effectively analyze and track efficiencies and provided strategic insights to revenue savings
- Oversee the completion of all operational requirements for each initiative and activity to ensure it is clearly executed, including implementation of change management.
- Develop strategies to achieve revenue targets in excess of $5B in annual net ticket revenue
- Ensure cross team collaboration mindset is instituted and followed through with timelines and goals
- Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- To perform this position successfully, the individual should be a self-starter and have the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once and operate in a team environment, while demonstrating knowledge of Revenue Management. Furthermore, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty in a timely and accurate manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or ability required to satisfy this position:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master’s degree (MA) preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred.
- Five to Eight years of related experience in financial / business analysis or related field preferred. Deep familiarity with revenue management concepts and tools.
- 3 or more years leading a successful team with direct reports, preferably with local and global environment
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of Revenue Management concepts and tools or basic economics.
- Previous experience with Sales, Marketing, Analytics preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, clear and concise presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and use proper judgement.
- Willingness to accept immediate product and project responsibility
- Demonstrate experience in project management.
- Proficiency in Excel, Brio Intelligence/Hyperion Studio, Toad Oracle SQL, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint required and ability to manipulate data essential.
- Knowledge of reservations system and revenue management data preferred but not required.
- Attention to detail required.
- Willingness to accept immediate product and project responsibility.
- Ability to operate in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated maturity. Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem solutioning.
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret revenue performance data.
- Ability to logically structure quantitative analyses of complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in global environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once
