Royal Caribbean Group’s Marketing Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Designer, Graphic reporting to the Manager, Creative Design

 

This position will be working onsite from Miami.

 

Position Summary:

The Designer will work alongside the creative strategy team and senior designers, to produce industry-leading campaigns and promotions for Celebrity Cruises. This position works closely with the Creative Design Manager and is responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the strategy team, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations, and developing detailed design specs for production, across all media. Prepares and executes mechanical files for all media, including but not limited to, disk release of printed and digital materials according to supplied specifications. This position will be responsible to check all production mechanicals and associate linked graphics prior to final print/digital release.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops concepts and creative executions for Brand and promotional initiatives across all channels.  
  • Including both print and digital platforms.
  • Develops toolkits that meets marketing efforts and strategic business objectives.
  • Builds mechanical files for print and digital production according to supplied specifications.
  • Mentoring and assists junior design members to ensure proper understanding of new brand efforts.
  • Creates high quality CMYK or RGB images. Understand dot gain, color separations, trapping, Pantone to CMYK conversions, imposition work, and photo retouching.
  • Corrects file errors and/or inconsistencies prior to final print production release, including: typesetting revisions, resizing artwork, photo retouching, correct vector artwork, image color correction and adjustments, page sequence and imposition revisions. Performs other duties as required.  This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years design experience.
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop ideas in a team environment, receiving direction from creative leadership. 
  • A strong understanding of layout and typography and the ability to apply to design initiatives across different platforms.
  • Ability to accept feedback and direction from design team and incorporate changes into design.
  • Good understanding of how to troubleshoot problem files.
  • Knowledge of companies brand with the ability to manage brand according to guidelines.
  • Must be proficient in all major desktop publishing applications including: Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Excellent time and task management skills, with an ability to multitask and prioritize projects based on tight deadlines, with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proven team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce graphic design materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and equipment.
  • Good understanding of the conversion issues present when using applications across the Mac and Windows platforms.
  • Possess a clear understanding of computer networks, both new and existing server technologies
  • Familiarity with various types of equipment/software used in production process including: inkjet, laser printers, and RIPs, FTP software, scanners
