Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be part of a winning team of Travel Professionals recognized as the best in the Industry and Responsible for all Name, Headline, Variety Entertainers, and tribute bands travel and logistics for the Royal Caribbean International fleet of ships. The Entertainment Travel Team is a pivotal part of the success of the Royal Caribbean Entertainment program by Ensuring contracted entertainers arrive to the ship in a timely, safe and cost effective manner and are ready to deliver their best performance for our valued guests.  The successful candidate will work independently with a collaborative team of Entertainment Specialists, Shoreside and Shipboard leaders and outside Artists and Talent Agencies to ensure and maintain top level service and communication all around.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Books and tickets air, hotels and arranges transfers for a portion of entertainers joining the ships in ports of call worldwide. Work closely with acts or agents, and ship to re-arrange travel plans in cases of weather, cancellations, itinerary changes, etc.

  • Works closely with the travel department to ensure proper ticketing procedures are followed and travel rules followed.

  • Works closely with the act / agents to ensure that the entertainers arrive at the ship in a timely and cost effective way.

  • Follows up on all tickets, hotels, transfers ordered and communicate said arrangements to entertainers along with ship itinerary and hotel information. Enters all corresponding travel details in the Entertainment Management System tool for the ships to be aware of the entertainers flight arrivals / departures / hotel details and transfers, where needed.

  • Obtains/updates all entertainers personal documentation data for TSA and ensures entertainers carry applicable marine letters for travel on certain carrier.

  • Confirms transfer requests with Port Agents. Insures that both entertainers and Port Agents are aware of the plans. Prepares invitation letter where applicable

  • Monitors hotels for cost, appropriate quality and change as needed either thru Hotels.com or thru Port Agents

  • When required due to itinerary, enter guest entertainers in E1 when needed for crew manifest and enter projected sign-on and sign-offs for shipboard HR.

  • Approves and manifests all entertainers guest requests for proper manifesting.

  • Manifests all entertainers and guest into our allotted cabins and work closely with revenue management to ensure that the entertainers are manifested in a timely manner and that cabins that are not used are released back to inventory for sale.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Associate degree and/or Business degree from an accredited college is preferred or applicable years of experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  •  Cruise line and travel experience.

  •   Good organization skills. 

  •  Strong work ethic.

  • Experience in the travel industry with understanding of airline schedules and RCCL ports of call. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to manage a fast-paced environment. 

  • Knowledge of Amadeus & Sabre GDS systems or experience using Concur or other online booking tools. 

  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, AS400

Physical Demands:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those requirements employees must meet to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.  While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information.  The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. The environment includes work inside/outside the office, and possible travel to other offices. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
