The Royal Caribbean Group’s Supply Chain Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Category Manager reporting to the Director, Procurement.
This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.
Position Summary:
This position is essential toward the completion of New Build and Fleet Modernization projects on time and on budget, all scope related to this position is strictly tied toward a specific project. They will be responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of sourcing strategies for the assigned category spends, on a project portfolio basis, with the objective of yielding optimal service, quality, and cost to the company. This position will also serve as the single point of contact for all project related needs, issues, and initiatives for the assigned category.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Understanding of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning and ability to apply organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization

Ability to develop the client’s annual category strategic procurement vision; develop and manage the Procurement strategy (aligned with the businesses) including maintaining historical data, setting targets and monitoring supplier performance

Develop end to end strategic procurement process to effectively build an effective category sourcing strategy.

Proficient in the use of a broad set of analytical tools to evaluate cost profile and cost reduction opportunities within assigned categories.

Become the Subject Matter Expert within assigned category, with ability to influence and drive timely decisions.

Develop and own the process for cost savings and spend management of assigned category.

Work collaboratively and efficiently with all internal partners and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals. Inclusive of SLAs & KPIs for suppliers, in order to measure appropriate criteria such as cost reduction, quality, and timeliness.

Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

Understand forecasting, demand planning, material/supply/inventory planning, and manufacturing processes/capacity to verify supply commitments

Drive supplier improvement initiatives to continually lower risk and reduce lead times.

Owner of Supplier relationship deliver general category management reporting on business and supplier performance.

Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations

Responsible for project coordination and regular updates.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Operations Management

5 years of sourcing, supply chain, or finance experience

Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing and Strategic Category Management with full accountability for large scale savings target

Knowledge of Software System & interfaces, i.e. Procurement, AP, inventory management, etc.
Knowledge and Skills:

Deep business analysis and strategic thinking skills

Strong executive-level communication and relationship building skills

Excellent influencing and change management skills
-
Experience in mining large amounts of data and summarizing to the top 5-10 actionable items with the greatest financial benefit

Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (processing and analyzing data)

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, presentations and procedure manuals.
Work Environment

A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.

Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Up to 30% domestic and international travel as necessary.
