Senior Analyst, PMO Deployment & Itinerary



The corporate deployment team is part of the Finance organization of the Royal Caribbean Group.  The position will influence the strategic direction and financial performance of the company and will look for synergies and opportunities for each brand to consider.  This position will conduct processes/tools assessments, quantitative analyses, competitive research, and market analyses to drive new business/system opportunities and detailed itinerary planning.

The senior analyst position is dynamic which requires considerable expertise and breadth of skills and experience and plays a key role within the Deployment & Itinerary Planning team.

This role will support efforts to develop new tools, dashboards, processes, and reports to improve the Deployment team’s efficiency & effectiveness.  Will partner with the brands, revenue planning, IT, and other external parties to identify solutions and a roadmap of future projects from assessment to execution, including monitoring and control postmortem. The Senior Analyst will also provide competitive deployment insights and look for automation opportunities on the company’s current competitive tools.  

The role will also work with the brands to confirm and execute the desired itineraries.  Will incorporate various constraints among others but including environmental, infrastructure, geopolitical, weather into the detailed planning.  The senior analyst will partner with various ports, port agents, destinations as well as several internal teams to resolve berth congestion.

There will be significant exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with Operations, Shore Ex, Destination Development, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International IT, Corporate Strategy and other departments within the Company.



1.    Continuous improvement of current processes and tools utilized by team. Develop new analytical tools including quantitative models and dashboards to improve performance visibility and guide data-driven deployment decisions and processes.

2.    Provide project management support from evaluation to implementation of new processes and tools.  Identify gaps and process improvement opportunities. Provide best practices standards and guidance. 

3.    Engage different stakeholders from multiple departments to build a shared understanding of the business opportunity. Ability to translate high level requirements to create and implement solutions that meet the needs of the brands, while ensuring cost effectiveness.

4.    Establish regular reporting cadence on new tools usage/improvements and regular competitive reporting. Collaborate on ad-hoc competitive requests from multiple brands.

5.    Collaborate in the scenario planning process to address various geopolitical, environmental, health, weather and other events impacting the deployment of our ships.

6.    Support the brand deployment teams to create/present business cases to executive leadership to support the strategic and tactical deployment decisions.

7.    Optimize expense and onboard revenue profitability of each product and detailed itinerary and detailed analysis of fuel consumption and procurement, port fees, hotel and provisioning costs, shore excursion revenue and onboard revenue

8.    Global cross functional coordination on deployment strategy to vet and optimize detailed itineraries for each market. Work closely with our international teams to understand local market conditions and long-term strategies.  Will incorporate various constraints among others but including environmental, infrastructure, geopolitical, weather into the detailed planning.

9.    Support problem solve resolutions to berthing conflicts and port congestion to optimize the detailed itinerary planning.  Partner with the Deployment Ops team to track port responses and ensure products are confirmed before going out for sale

10.    Provides guidance on strategic destination development projects, identifying the key ports around the world we should invest time and resources to facilitate our current and future needs.

•    Support business cases for capital requests on new corporate deployment tools/systems.
•    Directly impacts all revenue streams (net ticket, onboard, and other) based on the deployment decisions made.
•    Directly impacts overall shipboard operations expenses as itineraries drive a significant piece of onboard expense.  
•    Deployment decisions based upon the business cases developed will impact bottom line, organizational profitability by tens of millions of dollars.


•    Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or (BBA.) from a four-year college or university is required.  MBA or equivalent highly preferred.
•    Cruise industry knowledge and or experience are required
•    Itinerary planning experience preferred
•    Port & Destination knowledge preferred


•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to prepare strategic plans, committee presentations, etc.
•    Project Management skills with proven experience required
•    Ability to present and get buy-in from Senior Management
•    Strong decision making/analytical skills, judgment and aptitude for problem solving
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse environments
•    Competency in computer systems and applications is essential, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources including strong Excel, strong PowerPoint, basic      Colonial/As400, Hyperion On-Demand is required

•    Port Constraints, Commitments, Incentives and Long-term Relationships

•    Fuel supply & itinerary consumption
•    Global Safety & Environment issues
