Analyst, Sr Financial Sales

The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity in the Royal Caribbean International brand for a full time Sr. Financial Analyst of Sales on the Sales Analysis and Automation team reporting to the Senior Director, Business Planning & Analysis.

 

This position sits on-site in Miami, FL.

 

Position Summary:

The Sr Financial Sales Analyst is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the department’s annual financial plan including various cost centers with multiple business leaders.  This role prepares and administers monthly G&A forecasts, oversees month end accounting, accruals, and generates monthly financial variance explanations. They are the point person for all financial requests and submissions for the department and work closely with other finance teams within the organization.  The role communicates with management on a regular basis for decision making support and reviews all financial data for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the department’s annual financial plan and periodic financial reviews for various cost centers with multiple business leaders.
  • Prepares financial budget planning, analysis, month end accounting and variance explanations.
  • Creates bridges and graphical representations of financial models for presentations to Sr. Management.
  • Responds to ad-hoc data and analysis needs while supporting various projects. Conducts analyses of business data, evaluates trends and pattern changes, and learns to disperse results in a format appropriate for the audience.
  • Designs and maintains queries for processing of employee and financial data.
  • Partners with Accounts Payable, business leaders, and vendors to process outstanding invoices and run weekly outstanding and committed PO reports.  Prepares month end reclass entries for closing purposes to ensure all financial data has been captured and recorded correctly.
  • Maintains continuous contact with operating groups to keep current on business developments.
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance and development of Essbase planning and analysis.
  • Supports special projects by providing financial controls and analysis.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required (Accounting/Finance preferred).
  • Master's degree/CPA helpful.
  • 5+ years of proven financial experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Proven experience in supporting and interpreting reporting using Access or Business Intelligence tools (Hyperion Experience a plus).
  • Proven knowledge of financial systems (JDE and ESSBASE a plus).
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls.
  • Ability to present information to executive management, internal and external customers clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Experience using Hyperion/Brio Reporting, Essbase, and JD Edwards tools.
  • Database knowledge experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point, Word.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, take ownership of situations and escalate issues to the appropriate party for immediate resolution.

 

Physical Demands:

 

Ability to see (visibly) computer monitors, use fingers, hear customers via phone and in person.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  The employee is regularly required to sit, write, review and type reports, compile data, and operate a PC.
