Royal Caribbean Group’s Safety,Security & Environment Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Analyst, Situational Management reporting to Manager, Corporate Incident Management

 

Position Summary:

The Analyst, Situational Management plays a critical role in leading incident management escalation calls across various types of incidents and developing and enhancing crisis action planning to support emergency preparedness for shoreside and shipboard operations globally. This position plays a significant role in ensuring the Royal Caribbean Group is prepared for and can effectively respond to a variety of emergency situations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Crisis Management & Incident Response: Lead incident management escalation calls within the fleet for various types of incidents. Assess and assist in the creation and enhancement of plans and processes like Situation Reports (Sit Reps), Spot Reports, Incident Action Plans, and Senior Leadership Briefs.
  • Situational Awareness: Establish organizational situational awareness related to emergency response and emerging risks, in collaboration with the Global Intelligence Team and the Manager of Situational Management.
  • Weather Event Response: Monitor and respond to imminent weather events, liaising with the company's meteorologist.
  • Post-Event Reporting: Consolidate and prepare After Action Reports post-event, and brief Company Executives and stakeholders as directed.
  • Surge Capacity Review: Regularly review and update the company's surge capacity to respond to incidents, oversee the GO Team roster and campaigns, and train surge teams in conjunction with the Manager of Situational Management.
  • Personnel Deployment: Assist the Manager when considering or deploying personnel to ensure the effectiveness and accountability of deployable assets.
  • Training Coordination: Coordinate training exercises to implement IRC response protocols for shoreside and shipboard assets.
  • This position plays a significant role in ensuring the Royal Caribbean Group is prepared for and can effectively respond to a variety of emergency situations.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or directly related experience.
  • Proven analytical, emergency management, and/or situational management experience.
  • Well-versed in current technologies and open-source search methodologies.
  • Preferred
  • Experience in providing expert analysis to executive leaders in support of the organization's mission preferred.
  • Overseas work experience, travel, and professional network development is preferred.
  • Maritime experience preferred.
  • Experience with Everbridge or other notification and event management Systems is preferred.
  • Experience working within an Emergency Operations Center, as part of a crisis response group, or leading teams preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating projects across multiple departments or in big teams is preferred.
  • Experience with disaster and continuity planning.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of employees and management in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing personal computers within a Windows environment, including email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and related printers and equipment
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures manuals, and effectively present information.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to manage diverse projects concurrently within strict time constraints and work well independently.
  • Highly organized in record keeping and maintaining internal and external communications.
  • Solid ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in incident/situation management and understanding of the FEMA ICS Process. ICS 100-700 Certification a plus.  
  • Knowledge of Incident Management/Event Logging systems.

 

Technology and Professional Skills:

Required

  • Ability to demonstrate consistent good judgment and maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and external partners, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products,
  • Ability to create dashboards and increase automation through products such as Smartsheet’s.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written skills and proficient typing skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
  • Adaptability and ability to excel quickly in dynamic situations.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Everbridge or other Event Tracking Systems is a plus.
  • Experience with ArcGIS a plus.
  • Proficiency with Visio and Power-BI preferred.

Job Schedule - Required

The Analyst, Situational Management, will be part of a rotating on-call schedule, working alongside other team members to provide continuous coverage for the fleet. This on call schedule will include nights and weekends, ensuring the provision of 24/7 global coverage. This commitment to round-the-clock service is a critical aspect of the position. The position requires flexibility regarding the possibility for deployment in response to company emergencies globally.
