Royal Caribbean team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Financial Analyst reporting to the Private Destinations Finance Analyst.

 

Position Summary

The Analyst, Finance, Private Destinations functions as an integral part of the Royal Caribbean Finance department supporting the Private Destinations team.  The Financial Analyst will support both shoreside and destination-based management teams in effectively managing their financial performance. This role is responsible for coordinating with all levels of management to gather, analyze, and summarize financial data to support the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. The analyst will maintain ongoing communication with operational teams to stay informed on business developments and trends, ensuring timely and accurate financial insights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned expense and revenue accounts related to private destination operations
  • Analyze monthly financial results, identify variances, and provide detailed explanations to the accounting team
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and prepaid adjustments
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards for operational and executive leadership
  • Support the month-end close process by ensuring timely and accurate financial entries
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and prepare presentations to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure alignment between financial data and operational performance
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned
  • Creates and maintains accurate and real time management reports and analysis including quick turn-around of ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment.
  • Maintains and ensures cost controls are following Sarbanes Oxley, accounting, and other company policies.
  • Liaises with Accounting, Corporate Planning and Risk Management on forecast updates, planning, month end closing and other requests. 
  • Assist in the development of annual operating plans, forecasts for Private Destinations expenses analysis.
  • Prepare reclasses, accruals and other month-end entries to be submitted to accounting. Develop detailed variance explanations to plan and forecast for variance analysis review of operations expenses.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Two to four years of financial experience including a strong background in business/financial planning & analysis skills
  • Master’s Degree in Business / Finance preferred
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP adherence required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and computer modeling skills
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy in analysis
  • Must be able to fully integrate into Royal Caribbean shoreside and shipboard culture.
  • Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Prior experience with Essbase a plus
  • Must be able to work independently
