Analyst, Onboard Revenue & Casino Strategy

Royal Caribbean Casino team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Analyst, Onboard Revenue & Casino Strategy reporting to the Manager, Casino Analytics.

 

Position Summary

The position is responsible for maximizing revenue and margins from the casino for both Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. This role is also responsible for partnering with Casino Marketing to increase program engagement. Additionally, this role supports the database marketing reinvestment strategy and analysis of Direct Mail and Email campaigns, and partners with Marketing, Consumer Outreach, and Revenue Management to drive aggressive growth in casino bookings at the most profitable margins possible. The success of this role will be measured by growth and profitability across all casino segments. This role will report to the Casino Analytics Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all casino partners have necessary data/insights to make necessary business decisions.
  • Provide insight and strategy to drive revenue, lower costs, or provide efficiencies using expertise with little to no oversight.
  • Proactively create reporting and dashboards that will influence data driven decisions.
  • Lead, discover, and report on projects that will drive the team towards its goals.
  • Actively manage all casino databases to ensure consistent and reliable data.
  • Deliver insightful trends, analyses, and business recommendations on a regular basis.
  • Partner with Shipboard Operations, IT, and Analytics to improve the quantity and quality of the casino database.
  • Partner with internal Royal Caribbean teams to enhance the reporting structure and transparency.
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Expertise in database analytics and revenue optimization.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence software/tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Hyperion.
  • Knowledge of the principles of casino mathematics, including the calculation of theoretical loss, is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database software, or related programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and present extensive and complicated procedures.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work flexible hours.

Qualifications and Education

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree preferably in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Economics /Analytics/Business or BS/BA with combination thereof and related analytic work experience:
  • MBA Preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience in data analysis, business case development or other analytical position
  • Strong proficiency in query/reporting/dashboard tools, SQL experience a plus.  Advanced Excel.
  • Casino data analytics experience preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information.  The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 25-35 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities include traveling between numerous offices.  A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
