Royal Caribbean Group’s Human Resources Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead, Compensation reporting to the Shipboard Compensation Senior Director

 

Position Summary

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to support the company's compensation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance. This role involves developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, conducting market and internal equity analyses, and collaborating across departments to provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in data visualization, and a thorough understanding of compensation policies and practices to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance organizational effectiveness.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Operations and other departments to understand business needs and advise on compensation-related data insights.
  • Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide realtime insights into compensation data, utilizing Power Query Editor, SQL queries, and dashboard management best practices. 
  • Develop comprehensive reports to provide visibility and assurance of compliance with CBA requirements and other applicable regulations.
  • Create dashboards to support tracking and monitoring of new compensation policies and program implementations, aiding in oversight and analysis.
  • Assist in the merit increase and annual bonus processes by building necessary reports and supporting distribution efforts.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting to meet business needs.
  • Evaluate positions using existing job evaluation methodologies, market pricing, and internal equity to determine pay ranges and wage grids. Conduct competitive wage analysis and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Review and analyze compensation workflow processes; recommend and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure all compensation programs comply with applicable laws and regulations, staying abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as required, including ad hoc data analysis and reporting projects.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in building Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models. Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel, including the ability to interpret and manipulate complex datasets.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as JD Edwards is a plus.
  • Familiarity with compensation policies, procedures, and practices, including CBA knowledge preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable reports and dashboards for management and stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including report development, dashboard design, data modeling, Power Query Editor, and DAX.
  • Strong SQL querying skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and data management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to data accuracy, validation, and quality assurance.
  • Skilled in data visualization best practices, designing intuitive dashboards that effectively communicate insights.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills to handle multiple reports and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to stay current with Power BI updates and industry trends, demonstrating continuous learning.
  • Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills and proactive ownership of reporting tasks.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role, including sitting, standing, operating a computer, reviewing and analyzing reports, and communicating effectively. Occasional movement around the office and travel may be required. Lifting up to 15 pounds may be necessary.

 

Work Environment

The work environment includes both office and remote settings, with occasional travel to other office locations or offsite locations. Noise levels may vary, especially during site visits.
