Royal Caribbean Group’s Safety, Security & Environment has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Access Control Associate reporting to the AVP, Maritime Security.
Position Summary:
The Access Control Associate at Royal Caribbean Group has a key role within the Facility Security & Asset Protection, reporting directly to the Lead, Facility Security & Asset Protection. This position is responsible for the daily management of access control systems, including the creation of company badge IDs, assigning appropriate access levels, and troubleshooting badge and access issues. The Access Control Specialist ensures that all access control measures are effectively implemented and maintained to safeguard company assets, employees, and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and issue company badge IDs, ensuring accurate assignment of access levels.
- Screen and approve badge requests in accordance with company policies and security protocols.
- Monitor the "Badge Office" email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all badge and access-related issues, providing technical support to employees as needed.
- Maintain and update access control systems to ensure they are functioning optimally.
- Coordinate with IT and security teams to integrate access control systems with other security technologies.
- Conduct regular audits of access control systems to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations and standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of badge issuance, access levels, and system audits.
- Report any security breaches or access control issues to the Lead, Facility Security & Asset Protection.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, Human Resources, and other departments, to manage access control needs.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to maintain and upgrade access control systems.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in law enforcement, private/corporate security or military
- Experience in access control operation, CCTV, digital badging & visitor’s systems
- Experience in New Build Facility Security processes and functions.
- Experience in developing operating plans and procedures and a good understanding of IT security systems integration (access control, fire safety, CCTV etc.)
- Prior experience collaborating with leaders from local, state and national-level law enforcement and other government agencies
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of technical access control security systems.
- A high standard of communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to work effectively across departments with and in support of corporate stakeholders
- Ability to plan and accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- This position is required to be performed full-time from an RCG designated worksite.
