Royal Caribbean Group’s Silversea Cruises brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Business Development on the U.K. Sales Team reporting to the Director, Inside Sales.

 

This position will be based in the south of England

 

Position Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to enhance brand awareness and support trade accounts in the South of England. This role is pivotal in maintaining strong relationships, promoting Silversea, and identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within an assigned call list.

The primary goal is to increase revenue with our Gold & Silver accounts and real estate shops.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • On-the-Road Engagement: Spend 3 days a week visiting trade accounts in accordance with a strategic call plan. Collaborate closely with the Head of Sales - South to maximise opportunities.

 

  • Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for travel agents, addressing day-to-day queries and uncovering sales opportunities. Be the go-to resource for all sales, commercial, and marketing-related enquiries.

 

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with Store Managers, Sales Managers, and key decision-makers. Foster partnerships that enhance the growth of Silversea’s business.

 

  • Sales Growth Contribution: Identify and pursue new opportunities to drive brand sales across various business models, contributing to the overall growth of Silversea.

 

  • Performance Reporting: Prepare insightful reports that provide valuable perspectives on brand performance and market trends.

  • Consistent Presence: Regularly visit trade partners following a well-structured weekly schedule to ensure ongoing engagement and support.

  • Training Initiatives: Conduct engaging training sessions both in-person and virtually to empower travel agents with the knowledge they need to sell Silversea effectively.

  • Revenue Opportunities: Actively seek opportunities to increase revenue with Gold & Silver accounts through innovative strategies and partnerships.

  • Event Participation: Organise and participate in ad-hoc events, both in-person and virtual, to promote the brand and connect with travel agents.

  • Webinars: Host regualar webinars to keep small and medium-sized accounts informed and engaged with the brand.

​​​​​​​

  • Trade Events Attendance: Represent Silversea at trade events, both during the day and in the evening, to network and build relationships.

​​​​​​​

 

  • Flexible Schedule: Be prepared for evening and weekend work as needed, with time in lieu for hours worked outside of standard business hours.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • 2 years of experience in sales, preferably in travel / hospitality.

 

  • Ability to build external relationships to seek further business opportunities.

 

  • Build strong retailer relationships, with key retailers.

  • Act as fulfillment point for any marketing lead agent recruitment campaigns ensuring appropriate follow up.

​​​​​​​

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales South to identify and priorities business opportunities.

​​​​​​​

  • Assist in departmental sales efforts to move soft sailings and last minute inventory. 

​​​​​​​

  • Maintain accurate records of all agency interactions utilising company-supported technology tools and processes. 

​​​​​​​

  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events when required.  Some weekend or evening work may be required.

​​​​​​​

  • Ability to be on the road, operating a motor vehicle with a current, valid license, using defensive driving skills.
