Project Manager, Logistics

Position Summary:

At RCG, the Logistics Project Manager proactively coordinates and facilitates new ship startups, dry docks, and owner-supply deliveries according to project scope, timelines, and budget. Their leadership drives results for the Logistics Project Team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop logistical plans for dry dock, new build, and special projects, including timelines and consolidation points of owner supplies.
  • Serve as the Supply Chain point of contact on the pier for the execution of loading plans for owner supplies, tools, and materials onboard.
  • Track and report the progress of loading plans, including identifying and mitigating risks, escalating and resolving issues, securing approvals for changes, and documenting them. 
  • Direct planning meetings with the shipyard, marine operations, and Supply Chain to ensure project coordination from a logistical perspective
  • Collaborate with internal and external constituents, including suppliers and third-party logistics suppliers, to meet common goals and resolve conflicting issues.
  • Oversee receiving and releasing owner supplies onsite at new build warehouses.
  • Develop work procedures, prepare schedules, and expedite workflow by issuing written and verbal instructions.
  • Standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and execute reverse logistics strategies and work with operations to coordinate the ultimate disposition of owner supplies.
  • Lead logistics and supply chain staff, mentor and influence others on complex projects and assignments.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.   
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required, including export documentation procedures and global transportation, including ocean, truck, and air.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically for extended periods
  • Content expert as it relates to US Department of Transportation, IMO, International Import/Export and Customs Regulations
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and written, across all levels of staff and leadership in a multicultural organization.
  • Motivate and guide team productivity through positive leadership.
