Graphic Designer (6 Month Contract)

The Graphic Designer functions as an integral part of the APAC Marketing Team and is responsible for the in-house production of engaging and on-brand marketing materials for the APAC region. The role is primarily responsible for design execution for our consumer and trade channels across print and digital advertising assets, collateral design and execution, as well as supporting key company initiatives that position the brand favourably and appropriately in Australia. The role requires excellent communication and time management skills, as you’ll be working closely with both internal stakeholders.

 

The role reports to the Marketing Campaigns Manager for Asia Pacific (Consumer) and works two other Marketing Managers across Trade Channel and Asia and working closely with the global teams design teams based in Miami and Monaco.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the APAC Marketing Team to carry out internal graphic design requirements for Silversea in the APAC region incorporating Australia/NZ/Singapore/Greater China/Hong Kong
    • Print – brochures, flyers, press/magazine advertising
    • PowerPoint design
    • Digital – display, websites, social media, e-brochures
    • Video editing / content creation
    • Animation of digital assets
    • Production design – image editing (manipulation, color correcting/retouching)
  • Using the creative strategy outlined by the initial brief of projects and adhering to our brand guidelines, develop concept of assets through to finished art and deliver on time to relevant partners and internal stakeholders
  • Adapt and localise global assets as required Ideation and execution of on-brand campaigns/artwork with an ability to clearly and effectively communicate design rationale
  • Producing marketing material for trade channels across online and print channels (such as flyers, website banners, print collateral, pull up banners, magazine ads, social banners, merchandise, webinars and video content)
  • Collaborate and contribute with ideas and design solutions to meet the overall brief
  • Effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexities and with different but tight deadlines.
  • Utilise project management software to traffic projects and effectively manage stakeholders.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and studying information and materials.
  • Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, digital services when and where required.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies in new media, particularly of design software across the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy layout regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.

Qualifications, Education & Training Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a graphic design role within a branded corporation, design house or agency
  • Tertiary qualifications in graphic design
  • Tourism marketing experience desirable

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Essential SKILLS

  • Experienced graphic design skills in both offline and online mediums
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on skills in the latest software versions across the Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma
  • Video editing/animation skills (Adobe After Effects and Premiere) are desirable
  • Highly computer literate in MS Suite (Including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced and highly fluid environment
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Ability to present concepts with rationale that is logical and considered
