NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, with work from home on Friday.
Position Summary:
Royal Caribbean is seeking an experienced and visionary Manager of Conceptual Design to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience and currently hold a VP level or higher position in their practice. This role requires extensive expertise in managing multiple design teams, a broad range of architectural aesthetics, and strong drawing, drafting, modeling, and rendering skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vision & Concept Development:
- Lead the conceptual design phase for innovative private destinations, in coastal environments.
- Develop and articulate a clear design vision that aligns with Royal Caribbean’s brand and strategic objectives.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to ensure the successful execution of design concepts.
- Manage multiple architectural design efforts within the “Studio” team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Design Excellence:
- Oversee the creation of high-quality drawings, models, and renderings that effectively communicate design concepts and ideas.
- Ensure design concepts are innovative, functional, and aligned with industry trends and best practices.
- Project Oversight:
- Work in tandem with planners, landscape, and architectural designers within the Studio, to insure seamless connection between the Area of Development and Architecture to develop cohesive concept design.
- Conduct regular design reviews and presentations to senior management, providing updates on project status and design development.
- Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high standards of design quality and attention to detail.
- Ensure all design work adheres to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Royal Caribbean’s quality benchmarks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, design, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in architectural design, with a broad range of architectural aesthetics.
- VP level or higher experience in current practice, demonstrating leadership and expertise in conceptual design.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in drawing, drafting, modeling, and rendering, with a portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
